Greetings and hallucinations!
As you have no doubt noticed, Hallow-Birthday-Ween didn't really come to fruition this year. While I'm excited about the second anniversary of The Beast Peddler, "real life," as it sometimes known, got in the way of any celebrations.
Anyone who received a raffle ticket with their beast purchase or through the Instagram giveaway should hang on to them! You can redeem them in about a week or so in a raffle. I'll post any updates here.
My apologies about the lack of activity all around. There has been a sorry small amount of sewing going on.
The Prince and I are going away this weekend, and will be back next Monday. After this hiatus, I can get serious about sewing again and drag all sorts of beasts out of the ether for you.
If you are waiting on a custom beast, it will be ready to ship before this Friday (11/9).
If you are waiting on your party pack and / or your raffle tickets, they will be in your hands before next Wednesday, and the raffle winner will be announced on Friday (11/16)
My thanks for your continued patience while I get my head together.

Studio Tour Time! (Picture Heavy)
Greetings!
Now that the beasts and I are getting settled in, it's time to show all of you where the beasts come from: the studio! It's partially underground, so I refer to it as "the lair". I think it works though, some creature is usually asleep inside.
Some piles of fabric for tomorrow's sewing escapades. There's fabric for demons, and the other stuff I dyed with tea earlier this week. My sketchbook is next to them, usually I carry it around the house with me for drawing silly things I think of. Do any of you do that?
This is my pincushion Max. One day I might give him some back legs... maybe.
Skunk skull, miscellaneous bones, and new tags for the beasties.
In the corner of the room, there's two huge chests on their ends. Beelzebub likes to perch up there like a gargoyle and watch me work. Every once in a while he gets up and comes over to ask for a treat or to get a good belly rub.
Hagatha decided she was going to let you all in on the ritual she uses to bring the beasts to life. Usually when she pulls spirits out of the ether, she doesn't let anyone watch. So I was quick to grab my camera and sit back to watch the magic.
This is my favorite of the photos- our newest beast, Grim Jones is in the middle, wavering in and out of reality. Awesome, right?
Grim
I'll try to get some better pictures if she lets me watch again :)
Have a great weekend!

Well hello!
So, we've been away for some time. We've moved!!
That's right, we left the ocean and have settled in the mountains. It's been pretty exciting to live somewhere else. There's lots of farms where we moved to, so we eat loads of locally-grown produce and honey. Anyway, I've pretty much gotten settled in at this point, so shop updates and blog posts will be done on a regular basis now.
Hallow-Birthday-Ween is coming, and I'm going to do some giveaways! I'm giving away little party packs, which will include raffle tickets, party hats and some other goodies c: The giveaway is happening the first day of Hallow-Birthday-Ween, October 1st. I'm also thinking about doing one on Instagram, and one on the Facebook page. Stay tuned for details on those!
Anyway, here's some pictures from the new place! My camera's still packed up, so here's a bunch of Instagrams from my phone:
A few new guys in progress on my desk, with a potion that Hagatha mixed for me :D
Here's the view from our new street! There's a massive rock on the side of that mountain called "the Devil's Football," that the Prince and I hiked up to the other day.
Here's my new sewing desk, complete with my Ouija board, and (some) of my antler collection.
Sewing away.
I'm taking photos tomorrow for a little studio tour, and Hagatha is generously allowing me to take some photos of the ritual she does to bring the beasts to life! That should be up tomorrow night. After the studio tour, Halloween-themed beasts will be going up in the shop. I couldn't contain myself any longer, I just had to sew some spooky things. Also, stickers are available in the Etsy store tonight!
Time to watch some movies with the Prince and the beasts. Have a great night!

Hello everyone!
Thought I'd show you some of my favorite creepy creatures from Etsy.
First, the Chattergrub from Tinplate Studios:
This guy is just horrifically wonderful. I feel like if I had him on my shelf I would alternate between thinking it was adorable and having nightmares of it burrowing into my brain. Which is all you can hope for in a monster, really.
Next, Gui from Eliza Bolli:
Gui is just beautiful, and I love the grub / caterpillar shape.
Last but not least is Murphyelago from Sandra Arteaga
He's wearing a suit, and he comes with a suitcase. Just adorable. I love bat faces, and when tiny monsters have tiny pairs of pants on. What can I say, I love a well-dressed gentlemonster.
Well that's all for today, I'm working on expanding my demon horde:

Hi everyone-
We had some paranormal activity of a sort at the enchanted cottage the past couple days! A possession, lots of dancing. You know the kind I'm talking about!
Anyway, meet Morsa Rojo! Here's the story:
One night, the Beast Peddler was awake way past her bedtime drawing up plans for new beasts. She was getting pretty drowsy. It was quiet in the enchanted cottage and she could hear Hagatha doing some sort of magic in the other room. Suddenly, there was a loud "BOOM" and the power went out for a moment. As it came back on, the Beast Peddler could sense she was no longer alone. She continued with her drawing though, figuring that Hagatha would sort it out. Then she yawned, a huge yawn that opened her mouth wide and forced her eyes shut. Just as her eyes were closing, she thought she saw something move in front of her. Then she blacked out.
The next morning, the Beast Peddler woke up in her bed surrounded by beasts. Hagatha was leaning over her, dabbing her brow with a camp towel. The Beast Peddler sat up slowly, looking around her. Her sketchbook was lying on her desk, open where she had left it. How did she get into bed?
"What .... happened?"
"You were possessed... briefly. I was communing with a few spirits and one decided it was going to let itself in. I have it contained now, but it was ... in you for a while."
"Oh dear... did I do anything harmful?" Hagatha looked vaguely uncomfortable for a moment, and when the Beast Peddler looked over at the beasts, they all looked like they were trying to keep themselves from breaking into hysterics. Hagatha turned, picked something up off of the bedside table, and handed it to her. It was a photograph.
As it registered with the Beast Peddler what she was looking at, the beasts couldn't take it anymore. They just about cracked up. They laughed, chortled, rolled on the ground holding their bellies. They laughed so hard that they cried.
The Beast Peddler sewed a new beast for the spirit to live in- Morsa Rojo. He loves to dance. He shakes his little tush, jumps on the bed and sings loudly in Spanish. Oh, he really gets into it too- you'll never see a dance like his. Unless, of course, you see the photo that Hagatha took that night. Then you can see the Beast Peddler doing that very dance.
I've been doing nothing but sewing & planning Hallow-Birthday-Ween! The Prince this morning reminded me that "it's only August" but I just can't help myself! Anyway, we've got 100 raffle tickets being printed right now, and I'm planning a few giveaways as well. I can't wait!
keep it creepy, friends!

Well hi there!
A bunch of new beasties up today, and more sitting pretty on the couch waiting to get their pictures taken! Plus, even though I know it's only August but I'm already planning this year's Hallow-Birthday-Ween Celebration! The beasts are really excited.
So anyway, here are, in order, The Blue Meanie, Greta Hagglehair, Petey Paddletail, and Flapjack the Floppy.

Meet Scurvy Sam!
Scurvy Sam has a few things that he really likes. Bellowing out sea shanties, for one. Also: getting tattooed, and telling stories from his sea-faring days that may or may not be purely of his own invention.
He has hand-drawn tattoos and a BEARD.
Plenty more beards to come from me, I can promise you that.
